Lost Paws Rescue Adoption Event
October 20, 2012 in Uncategorized
It is always so hard to go to a Lost Paws adoption event and not be able to bring multiple dogs home with me. I went today to choose a new foster dog, but it’s just not easy when there are so many that want attention. Since I already have 4 dogs, I usually stay away from anything but the small dogs, but I would have brought home a bigger one today if I had a crate to keep her in. There were so many sweet faces begging for adoption, or at least the individual attention of a foster home. Of course it never really matters which dog I choose, because they all need and want attention and affection. Several I’d seen on the Lost Paws web site weren’t at the adoption event when I got there, but that was because they had a really good day, with nine dogs finding forever homes. I ended up with a monkey face Brussels Griffon mix who’s supposed to weigh eight pounds but I think she’d have to be soaking wet for that to be true. I expect it will take her a few days to get used to living with my gentle giant Grace, but I’m sure she will adjust. And as I have in previous posts, I encourage everyone to adopt, and if you’re not in the market for a new dog or cat, please consider opening your home to an animal that needs to be fostered.
